Do I need off-street parking?+
Yes, a home charger needs a driveway, garage or dedicated space where the cable can reach your car safely. The home survey confirms this for your property.
Which charger will I get?+
A 7 kW smart charger, the standard for Irish homes on single-phase supply. We'll recommend a specific unit (tethered or untethered) based on your survey.
How long does installation take?+
Most installs are done in a few hours by a Safe Electric certified engineer, with minimal disruption.
Do you handle the SEAI grant?+
Yes. The SEAI Home Charger Grant (up to €300) is applied to your price and we look after the paperwork for you.
Can I charge from my solar panels?+
Absolutely, that's the best bit. A smart charger can prioritise your surplus solar so you're charging on free sunshine. We do solar, battery and charging together, so it's one joined-up system.
Will it work with my car?+
Yes, a standard Type 2 home charger works with every EV and plug-in hybrid sold in Ireland, including the full BYD range.
