How we calculate this
- • Electricity price: 35c a unit. The saving is modelled as a share of your bill, plus 15 percentage points if you charge an EV.
- • Generation cap: the saving never exceeds what your panels make, taken as 900 kWh per kWp of panels a year, a typical Irish yield.
- • SEAI grant: on the panels only, €700 per kWp to 2 kWp, €200 per kWp from 2 to 4 kWp, capped at €1,800.
- • CO₂: the electricity you no longer buy × 0.198 kg of CO₂ a unit, the SEAI electricity conversion factor.
